Francis K. Mensah, is the founder of UMAWA Ltd. Prior to starting UMAWA Ltd., Francis worked as a consultant for reputable German energy companies in their quest for investment opportunities on the Ghanaian energy market. It was during this period that the vision to adapt renewable energy resources in Ghana was born. As a manager, he is known for building and motivating cross-functional teams through leadership by example and participatory management principles.
Head of Compliance and International Relations,Co-Founder of UMAWA Ltd.
Peter Schuster, Head of Compliance and International Relations,Co-Founder of UMAWA Ltd is a Senior Project Manager (IPMA Level B) and has held different leadership positions in a couple of international DAX companies in the last 20 years. Peter’s core competencies lie in the successful implementation of largescale IT projects, logistics, likewise in comprehensive cooperation management and business process optimisation. For the last 8 years, Peter has supported diverging renewable energy projects in Africa and in Europe, and brings to UMAWA Ltd’s advantage, a bank of experience in international business cultures and an extensive knowledge of the German solar market.
Head of Engineering.
Kojo Farhat, Head of Engineering, is an Electrical Engineer with experience in the design and implementation of various Photovoltaic systems, Electrical Building Services and Industrial Electrical installations. Prior to joining UMAWA, Kojo was a Project Engineer at Trasacco Estates and Head of Engineering at Energiebau Sunergy Ghana. He has also overseen various projects both in the Estate development and renewable energy sectors.
Head of Operations.
Steve Atsu, Head of Operations, oversees every facet of the project value chain, providing support to the engineering department, planning and coordinating activities on site to ensure quality, relevance and timeliness of project work plans. Steve brings 15-plus years of experience from the airline and hospitality industry. The competencies gained and the knowledge acquired places management in a position to mobilize the needed resources to meet its corporate objectives of being the preferred solar destination in Ghana.
Executive Management Assistant.
Constance Mensah, Executive management assistant, over her 2-year period after school and having served with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, Constance has gained executive management experience with clear understanding of business governance pressures relative to performance and deliverables. Constance manages with excellent dispatch the supply chain processes leading to effective pricing and evaluation of jobs, the ultimate tender preparation and excellent execution of projects.
